Mrs Sonal Goel, an IAS, 2008 Batch has been dedicated to the service of the nation for more than a decade now. She is presently posted as Resident Commissioner, Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi.

Having secured an all India Rank 13th in Civil Services Examination, she joined Tripura Cadre (4 years Inter-cadre deputation to Haryana) and has held various significant positions since then. She has put in more than 13 years of dedicated service towards the nation.

She joined the Haryana cadre in July 2016 and has served as CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) and Additional CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) in her last posting.

Mrs Goel has featured in Top 25 Women transforming India by Niti Aayog, United Nations and MyGov in September 2016.

She hails from Panipat, Haryana and had her education based in Delhi. Her excellence is supported by well-established credentials in the field of academics. She did her schooling at D.A.V. Public School. She is an alumnus of Sri Ram College of Commerce, D.U, (the World's leading educational institute in Commerce) from where she did her B.Com (Hons.). She is also a C.S (Company Secretary) from ICSI, New Delhi, which augments her expertise in Finance and Commerce.

She has another prestigious institute to prove her academic excellence, Kurukshetra University University from where she did L.L.M, which adds perspective to her jurisprudence profile.She had done her L.L.B from Delhi University She also holds a masters degree in Public Policy from IGNOU making it a perfect combination of administration, law and policymaking.

Roots of finance and commerce can be well observed in her family where her father Mr I.C Goel is a CA by profession. Her mother Mrs Renu Goel who has been acting as a support system for the family is a Homemaker. In her family, she is blessed with two children and her husband, Mr Aditya Yadav, IRS (C & IT) who have been her pillar of strength. Prior to joining the Civil Services, she has worked in the Corporate sector as Company Secretary & Legal Advisor for around 3 years.

She has been appointed as ‘Honorary Advisor’ at BRICS CCI Young Leaders Forum (Session 2020-2023). She has also been a speaker at various TEDx Talks. Mrs Goel likes writing, music, dance, plays chess, likes to travel and explore places. She believes we all can contribute to society, in all capacities big or small.
