"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." - Martin Luther King

This is the motivation I feel everyone should adopt. Life never gives too many chances to move forward and learn new things that’s why I never miss any opportunity to play my role in the betterment of society.

There are moments in life that leave an indelible mark on our journey, shaping our thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives. Being a part of TEDx IMT Nagpur held on the 11th of January 2025, was one such experience for me. It was more than just an event; it was an opportunity to reflect, to share, and to inspire.

Nagpur, known as the Orange City, welcomed me with its vibrant energy and cultural richness. The city's legacy extends beyond its famed oranges—it is a place deeply connected to India's history and progress. It holds a special significance in the journey of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, as it was in Nagpur that he embraced Buddhism along with thousands of followers in a historic moment of social transformation. The city's historical relevance extends further, with its pivotal role in India's independence movement and its strategic importance as a geographical center of the country.

Standing on that iconic red dot, I spoke about a concept that has deeply resonated with me—the Butterfly Effect. With the sub-theme Change Begins with You, my talk centered on the profound truth that even the smallest actions can create ripples of transformation across time and space.

The Invitation and Preparation

When I received the invite to speak at TEDx IMT Nagpur, I was excited about the opportunity to engage with young minds. TEDx is a space where ideas spark conversations, and the theme Change Begins with You instantly resonated with me.

Throughout my journey—whether in civil services, social initiatives, or personal growth—I've seen how even the smallest decisions can create ripple effects. This idea, often captured by the Butterfly Effect, felt like the perfect way to frame my talk.

Preparing for a TEDx talk is more than just structuring content—it’s about connecting with the audience on a deeper level. I wanted my words to spark reflection, to inspire action beyond that hall, beyond that moment. My approach blended introspection, research, and storytelling to ensure the message truly stayed with them.

Arriving at TEDx IMT Nagpur

The energy at IMT Nagpur was palpable from the moment I arrived. The enthusiasm of the organizers, the curiosity of the attendees, and the sheer

intellectual vibrancy of the space made it clear that this event was going to be special.

Meeting fellow speakers was another highlight of the experience. Each of them brought a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a unique perspective to the stage. Some spoke about technology, some about resilience, while others shared stories of social change. It was a melting pot of ideas, a reminder that knowledge, when shared, multiplies in impact.

The Moment on Stage

As I stepped onto the red dot at TEDx IMT Nagpur, a sense of focus took over. The energy in the room was so intense—young, eager minds ready to absorb, question, and act. At that moment, it wasn’t about delivering a speech; it was about having a conversation that could spark something within them. If even one person walked away feeling inspired to take action, that would be enough.

I began by explaining the Butterfly Effect—a concept rooted in chaos theory given by the American mathematician Edward Lorenz, who suggests that a small change in one part of the world can lead to significant consequences elsewhere. I connected this to real-life examples, showing how even seemingly inconsequential choices and actions have the power to create extraordinary outcomes.

I shared anecdotes from my life—instances where a small decision led to significant change. I spoke about my journey in the civil services, where a simple act of going the extra mile to help someone had far-reaching consequences. I recounted stories from my social initiatives, where empowering one girl, and one individual, resulted in a ripple effect, transforming entire communities.

The audience was engaged, nodding, taking notes, and reacting with expressions of realization. The essence of my message was clear—each of us has the potential to be a catalyst for change. Whether through kindness, perseverance, or leadership, we can all set forth ripples of transformation.

The Power of 5 Cs of Becoming the Change

During my talk, I gave the idea of the 5 Cs of change that hold the power to transform anyone’s life. The theme was deeply intertwined with these 5 Cs of becoming the change. The idea was presented with real-life examples because they are not just a part of a mere theory, they actually mean something. These five points will help you grow in your life and achieve more as you walk on your road to success.

1. Clarity: The first point is clarity. Clarity tells us to define our purpose and take decisive steps. It is really essential to have your thoughts clear before taking any actions. Hence, clarity is needed to set your concrete future goals.

2. Courage: Courage comes after you achieve clarity in your vision. You need to step beyond your comfort zone. If a person is not courageous enough to keep walking on their decided path and putting efforts towards their goal, then they won’t be able to achieve it. So, if you have courage on your side you will be unbeatable.

3. Consistency: Being consistent with your courageous efforts is necessary to bring a change. One major thing we need to understand is that small actions lead to big transformations. The change is correlated with the consistent efforts. It holds the power to transform any dream into reality, so be consistent with your efforts.

4. Collaboration: Change is never a solo journey—it thrives in unity. When we come together for a cause, our impact multiplies, and transformation becomes inevitable. Alone, we can take a step, but together, we can create a movement. True change happens when individuals align their efforts, support each other, and work towards a shared vision. After all, the change we seek in the world begins with collective action.

5. Compassion: As they say, “Compassion is the true heart of CHANGE.” Compassion is the force that turns empathy into action. When kindness resides in our hearts and reflects in our actions, no obstacle is too great, no challenge too difficult. It is compassion that bridges divides, heals wounds, and inspires others to rise. True leadership, true change, and true humanity begin when we choose to care, uplift, and stand for others.

The Interactions That Followed

One of the most rewarding aspects of TEDx events is the interaction that follows the talk. The conversations with students, professionals, and fellow speakers were enriching. Many young attendees came up to me, sharing their

dreams and aspirations, and seeking guidance on how they could bring about change in their capacities. Their questions were profound, their enthusiasm infectious.

Reflections and Takeaways

As I completed my talk and left the stage, I carried with me a sense of fulfillment and renewed purpose. Events like these serve as reminders that every individual has a story worth telling, a lesson worth sharing, and a responsibility to contribute to the larger good.

The experience reinforced my belief that change does not always come from grand gestures; sometimes, it is the smallest step in the right direction that alters the course of destiny. It reminded me that leadership is not just about holding positions of power but about influencing and inspiring those around us.

Moreover, it reaffirmed that knowledge and wisdom, when shared, become catalysts for transformation.

Conclusion: The Power of the Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect is not just a theoretical concept; it is a living, breathing reality. Every day, with every choice we make, we are shaping the future. Whether as an administrator, a student, an entrepreneur, or a changemaker, each of us wields the power to create ripples of impact.

TEDx became that platform for me to convey this message, and in return, it gave me something invaluable—a renewed belief in the power of small actions and the infinite potential of individuals to drive change.

As I move forward in my journey, I carry with me the echoes of that red dot, the warmth of the audience, and the unshakable belief that indeed,

Change Begins with You, Change Begins with Me, and Change Begins with Us.
